Amber Lawrence

Multi award-winner Amber Lawrence capped off a hugely successful Tamworth 2012 Festival with a #4 ARIA Country Album Chart debut for her new album, ‘3′. This ARIA chart position is an outstanding achievement and also saw ‘3’ hit #41 on the all genres ARIA Chart – an amazing week one result! Hot off the heels of a sold out show at the Capitol Theatre during the festival, Amber’s profile and fan base are growing prolifically.

Fans and critics are declaring ‘3′ her most mature and polished album to date, with critics stating “…Amber delivers beautifully crafted songs with strong vocals and musicianship” (Sunday Telegraph, 4/5 stars). Already it has produced the number one hit song ‘Everybody’s A Mess’ (Number one – Country Music Channel & Country Tracks Top 30 countdown), and the second single – fan and industry favourite alike – ‘The Man Across The Street’ is currently a top 5 single, and threatening the number one spot. The next single to be released ‘Try’ will coincide with the commencement of the Junior Special Olympics, as Amber’s song has been proudly chosen are their theme song.

The album, produced by Rod McCormack and written by Amber and an impressive list of co-writers including Colin Buchanan, Mike Carr and Sam Hawskley, features collaborations with two unique Australian artists. One of Amber’s favourite country artists and ‘Album of the Year’ winner, Adam Harvey, duets on the beautiful ‘The Peace I Keep’, while former Australian Idol and ‘Home & Away’ star Axle Whitehead duets on ‘My Attraction’ – a move as unexpected as it is a natural fit.

Amber has already performed over 50 shows this year, touring mainly with Adam Harvey, but also joined forces with Axle Whitehead for some special shows. But the tour does not stop here, with Amber’s tour diary full until November 2012 – when she will take a well-earned break!

Amber burst on to the music scene in 2007 with her hit single ‘Good Girls’ – nominated for APRA Song of the Year. Fast-forward and she has 5 Golden Guitar nominations, 7 number one radio singles, 7 Indy Country Music Awards, and was the winner of the inaugural “Telstra Horizon Award” (2010) at the Golden Guitars.

Amber is a fan favourite, known for her entertaining shows, her fun stage presence and her honest and quirky songwriting. She’s played hundreds of shows around the country and all the major country music festivals, and is described by the Sunday Telegraph’s Jonathon Moran as “a breath of fresh air to Australian country music. A city girl singing country, she’s young, exciting and full of energy and never disappoints when she gets up on stage.”
