Abbie Ferris

Abbie Ferris

Abbie Ferris is the pure definition of a country girl, and a ray of light on the Australian music landscape. Her girl-next-door charm and humility, coupled with an effervescent stage presence and signature vocal, have fans gravitating to her time after time.

Raised in the little country town of Mallala, South Australia, the great outdoors and music were always at the centre of Abbie’s world. Growing up, Ferris would spend her time exploring the family farm, writing songs, and playing her guitar. Her father was a stockman who worked the sale yards, so Abbie was on horseback by the time she could walk.

After significant industry buzz before even releasing a song, Ferris was awarded the Market the Music ‘Emerging Artist Scholarship’ in 2017. This led to an appearance on the Country Music Channel/Country Music Television (CMC – CMT) Awards red carpet, wearing a custom-made RACY & LUCKY creation (Lady Gaga, Jaguar Jonze). To round out the year, Abbie saw her first taste of festival action at the Country Music Cocktails event, held at the Groundwater Country Music Festival. Abbie was also featured in The Music Network’s annual interview with industry stalwart Tim Daley, who named her as one of four artists to watch in 2019, a wonderful vote of confidence in her career trajectory at the tender age of 18.

Having had a taste of the festival circuit in her debut release year, Ferris has followed up with appearances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Country at the Camp, and Australian Music Week and was on a roll until COVID-19 put the industry on ice. With normality returning, 2022 has seen Ferris reach new heights, performing at Savannah in the Round, Charters Towers Country Music Festival, and her first-ever main-stage festival performance, at the Groundwater Country Music Festival before headliners Seaforth. On the touring front, Ferris has been kept busy supporting star performers O’Shea, Kirsty Lee Akers, and Hayley Jensen, as well as carving out her own touring path across Australia.

Abbie’s music videos are fast closing in on 900,000 views online, with numerous premiere releases on CMT. In the streaming arena, her tracks have been added to playlists across the board, most notably Spotify’s ‘Fresh Country’ and ‘Country Chill’ and Apple Music’s‘Today’s Country’, ‘Aussie Country’ and ‘Country Lovin’ playlists. To date, her singles have clocked up nearly 1.3 million streams combined.

Adding another string to her bow,Ferris put on her presenter's hat and reported for the Kix Country Network at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival. Her relatable and bubbly personality was a hit with fans. Her little venture into the media side of Country Music was so well received that she was invited back in 2022 to host both Kix and iHeartradio’s social media for the 50th Anniversary Festival.

To wrap up a successful 2023, Abbie heads to Nashville, USA to song-write with some of the best.  Abbie Ferris is definitely one to watch!
