CMC Rocks QLD will be held at Willowbank Raceway in Ipswich, Queensland on Wednesday 17, Thursday 18, Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March 2027. More than a music festival, CMC Rocks QLD is a cultural event that reflects the wonderful country lifestyle which is synonymous with Queensland – whether it’s the stellar line-up of Australian and International artists, the land, a regional community, or the associated industries.
Volunteer applications for CMC Rocks QLD 2027 are now open, the application timeline is listed below.

Who Can Volunteer at CMC Rocks?
At CMC Rocks QLD, our volunteers play a vital role in creating an unforgettable experience for our audience. Whether you’re enthusiastic about music, hospitality, event management or simply eager to contribute to the vibrant atmosphere, we welcome your support.
As a volunteer, you’ll be an integral part of our festival community, working alongside like-minded individuals and gaining valuable experience in event coordination. From VIP hosting, to customer service to crowd management, there are diverse roles available to suit your interests and skills.
To apply as a volunteer, please take a moment to read the information below as well as the Festival Terms and Conditions, ensuring you understand the commitment and expectations. Once you’re ready, please complete the application form in full.
What Type of Work Will I Be Doing?
As a volunteer you may be rostered to assist in any of the following areas:
- Assisting with light duties for setting up Festival spaces.
- Assisting with camper or team information pack collating.
- Meeting and greeting campers and festival patrons with a friendly smile and providing general festival information and directions.
- Monitoring and assisting with crowd management at Festival facilities and amenities (eg The Drove Info Booth and VIP).
- Assisting with wristbanding patrons at the entry gate.
- Running errands around the Festival Site and/or Campgrounds.
- Assisting to look after fellow volunteers and team members.
- Assisting with traffic, security and campground management by directing campers and vehicles through the entry process and to designated camp sites.
- Assisting with scanning bus tickets as patrons arrive at the Festival Site and/or Campgrounds.
What Do I Get for Volunteering?
- You’ll get some great hands-on experience and an insight on how things run behind the scenes.
- Once you have completed your full 2 x 6 hour shifts, you will be issued with 1 x Full Festival Ticket (3 days) for free entry into the Festival. Until that time you will have a Volunteer Wristband.
- Complimentary parking for the 2 x 6 hour shifts.
- Light Refreshments.
What Should I Bring?
- You will be working outdoors so please come prepared.
- Valid Photo ID must be presented at registration.
- Sunblock, sunglasses and a hat.
- Water bottle – there will be water refill stations throughout the festival.
- A warm jacket and wet weather gear (poncho and gumboots) in case it gets cold or rains.
- Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing to work in.
- Wear appropriate footwear – only closed toe shoes or boots will be permitted.
- A fully charged mobile phone.
- A good attitude, common sense and smile!
About My Shifts
- All volunteers will be required to work a minimum of 2 x 6 hour shifts. Each 6 hour shift will be on a different day.
- You will be required to report to your designated Manager / Supervisor 15 minutes before your rostered shift time. Please do not be late.
- You must register and sign on prior to your shift (please bring your photo ID).
- You will be provided with a Volunteer Wristband that you must wear at all times. You must sign off at the end of each Shift and when you have completed your two (2) x 6 hour shifts you swap the Volunteer Wristband for a Festival Wristband.
- You will also undergo an induction – this is where you will learn some basic safety information and instructions on your duties.
- You must work the full 2 x 6 hour shifts.
- Festival sites are very active with a lot of people. Always be aware of your surroundings, take care of yourself and others around you. If you see something that could possibly cause injury, harm or damage – please report it immediately to your Manager / Supervisor.
What Not to Bring
- Please refer to the list Prohibited Items for the Festival (see Festival Terms and Conditions).
- DO NOT BRING valuable items to the Festival.
- The Promoter takes no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged property.

Where Is It?
- Willowbank Motorsports Precinct with the main festival site being at Willowbank Raceway, 38 Champions Way Willowbank, Queensland 4306.
- Willowbank is in the Ipswich region and is located approximately 45 minutes drive from Brisbane.
- You are required to make your own way to and from the Festival.
- Camping is not provided as part of any volunteer role.

Can I Camp Onsite?
- There are no facilities for volunteers to camp onsite.
- If you wish to camp you must purchase a camping ticket.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or over by Monday 15 March 2027.
Volunteers will be required to commit to working 2 x six (6) hour shifts across the festival weekend.
As a volunteer you may be rostered to assist in any of the following areas:
Before the Festival Opens (Monday 15 March & Tuesday 16 March)
- Assisting with collating Info Packs (need to be local to the Ipswich area).
- Assisting with collating Camper Packs (need to be local to the Ipswich area).
- Assisting with light duties setting up Festival spaces (need to be local to the Ipswich area).
During the Festival
- Meeting and greeting campers and festival patrons with a friendly smile and providing general festival information and directions.
- Monitoring facilities and amenities.
- Wristbanding patrons at the entry gate.
- Running errands around the site.
- Assisting Traffic Managers, Security and Camping Management by directing campers and vehicles through the entry process and to designated campsites.
- Scanning bus tickets on the shuttle service from Willowbank Raceway.
- You’ll get some great hands on event experience, an insight on how things run behind the scenes, an opportunity to meet some new people and be part of our beloved CMC Community!
- A CMC Team care pack including a hat and tee.
- Complimentary parking for the 2 x 6 hour shifts. Noting that once your shifts are completed and you’re attending the festival with your patron wristband, you must purchase Day Parking Tickets.
- A light snack, water and soft drinks during your shifts.
Once you have completed your full 2 x six (6) hour shifts, you will be issued with 1 x full (3 day) Festival Ticket. Until that time you will be wearing a Volunteer Wristband.
- Camping on site – if you want to camp on site, you’ll need to purchase a Camp Site ticket during the festival general public pre-sale, on sale or resale.
- A full meal – Volunteers receive light snacks only.
- Transport to and from the festival.
- Day Parking for your whole time on site. You will only receive access to worker parking for the days you are working at the Festival.

For the first time, we’re welcoming Ipswich locals to contribute to volunteer shifts across Monday 15 March and Tuesday 16 March.
You’re required to undergo an online induction prior to arriving at the Festival for your first shift. This is where you will learn some basic safety information and instructions on your duties.
Camping is not included as part of the Volunteer offerings.
If you wish to camp, you must purchase a camp site ticket during the Festival general public pre-sale, onsale or resale. There are no separate facilities to allow volunteers to camp on site.
Volunteers are responsible for getting to the Festival on their own.
There are a range of ways to get to the Festival – CMC encourages carpooling or public transport where possible.
Volunteers will have access to a worker car park only for the days of their shifts.
You must register and sign in by showing your valid photo ID 15 minutes before your rostered start time. You will be provided with a Festival Tee and Hat as part of your Team Pack.
You will be provided with a Volunteer Wristband that must be worn at all times. Once you have completed your 2 x full six (6) hour shifts, your Volunteer Wristband will be swapped for a Festival Wristband. You’ll be able to enjoy the rest of the show.
Festival Sites are very active with a lot of people. Always be aware of your surroundings, take care of yourself and others around you. If you see something that could possibly cause injury, harm or damage – please report it immediately to your manager / supervisor.
CMC Rocks will be on the lookout for several QLD based, experienced people to join our PAID Team in a variety of roles.
To be part of the Team, you must be:
- 18 years of age or over.
- Available from Monday 15 March – 22 March.
- Preferably have demonstrated previous experience in Customer Service, Site or Event Administration, Event On-Ground work.
